Praise God, from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
I told one of the women at the retreat this weekend that “Woohoo!” or “Yeehaw!” is for good news and “Woohoo! Yeehaw!” together is for really good news. Today gets a Woohoo! Yeehaw! for sure.
My students and I are being blessed by God through the generosity of several friends in the United States who have, as of this afternoon, committed to give the entire amount required to purchase three additional netbooks for my students to use in class. You have no idea how much this will mean to my students. They go to various high schools or trade schools here, and several have said there are either no computers at their school they can use or the two or three that exist seldom work.
Although I am teaching English, they will learn a little bit about using a computer. During this upcoming trimester, they will spend a lot of time listening to some audio lessons, but I also plan to have them write a letter in English using the computer. I will also help them open a free email account so they can email their English-speaking friends. They will also have a home work assignment or two that will involve sending me an email in English. To do this, of course, they will need to learn the basics of how to use a word processing program. This will be a big help to them. I think I will also have them write a short report that will require some Internet research. That will probably be their final major assignment for the next trimester, which I am very much looking forward to. (Yes, I ended that sentence with a preposition!)
So, it’s been a wonderful last few days as each day, one or two more people said, “I want to help.” To each of them, I say a great big “thank you!” To each of you who prayed that God would provide, He has affirmatively answered your prayers. Thank you!
Blessings to each of you!
