Update – August 1, 2009

01 Aug

It’s hard to believe it’s been three months since I’ve posted an update, but it has. The three biggest events during the past three months were receiving a contract for my second devotional to appear in The Upper Room, my trip to Honduras, and publication of my second Bible study guide.

My devotional in The Upper Room is scheduled for publication in the May-June 2010 issue. I titled it “Follow Jesus,” but I don’t know if they will keep that title. I can’t publish it elsewhere until a year after The Upper Room publishes it. I don’t know how much their circulation has grown, but last year they published in 106 countries and the devotionals were all read on French radio in Africa. Amazing.

You can read all about my sixth trip to Honduras in my journal at This trip was significantly different from all the rest and was the most personally rewarding. Read my journal to find out why and see how our awesome God uses ordinary people like you and me.

Finally, in the wee hours of this morning, I published my second Bible study guide. A Prayerful Study of The Gospel of John is available now at CreateSpace and will be on in about two weeks. Volume 3 will be on Colossians. I will start working on that right away and have a writing week scheduled later this month. I hope to publish this one by Thanksgiving.

That’s about it for now. I hope you all have a very blessed week! Look up! Jesus is coming soon!
