Update – 3/21/09

21 Mar

I just finished chapter 19 and thought I should let you all know! Two more chapters to go, and then the hard work of editing starts.

I spent the week of Mar 9-13 working in Iowa City with my teammates. It was a very good week. We made good progress, and I came back with a number of action items. I’m not finished with all of them, but I’m whittling away at the list. Hopefully, I’ll finish everything this week that needs to be done by the end of the month. I prefer not to have to rush to finish at the last minute!

I came home from Iowa to a soaking wet closet carpet, which I didn’t discover until about 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning. It turned out that my water heater was leaking. Ron came out Monday and helped me. Actually, I helped him. He took out the water heater, took me to Lowe’s and then to Home Depot to get a new one, and then put it in for me. He also sealed up the leak over my front door. He’ll be back later to seal a couple of leaking windows, too. Well, that took up Monday and cost me a Personal Day from work, plus a few hundred dollars for the water heater, ShopVac, and dehumidifier. I am very grateful for Ron and the skills God has given him. I’m also very grateful for the job I have so I have money to pay for these kinds of things.

This week I get my permanent crown for the tooth that was worked on a couple of weeks ago. Today, I received an interesting and obviously wrong Explanation of Benefits form for that visit. It said the expenses were incurred after my coverage was cancelled! Interestingly, they paid for the cleaning that was done just a few minutes before the core buildup on the tooth. Somebody goofed. Now I get the pleasure of trying to get everything corrected so they’ll pay the claim.

That’s it for now. Have a blessed week!
