Please forgive this group email, but how many ways can one say “I have breast cancer”? Well, I do. I will be seeing a surgeon tomorrow afternoon and an oncologist next Tuesday. All I know for sure right now is that it was caught early, and my doctor is confident that I will be just fine.
So, let me say up front that I believe Mark 16:17-18 and James 5:14-15 are for today, not just the first century church. I know that God heals today, and He does so through natural body processes, medical doctors, and divine intervention. I believe Isaiah 53:5 and know that by His stripes I am healed. That healing comes at a time of God’s choosing and in the manner He chooses, but it does come. Whether physical healing occurs now or when I see Jesus face-to-face, it will happen!
In the meantime, I request your prayers for Dr. William Bradshaw, the surgeon, and Dr. Sharon Wilks, the oncologist. Please also pray for Dr. Gladys Sepulveda who did the biopsy, and Dr. Carol Wratten, who had to break the news to me, as she has to other patients over the years. Of course, I also request your prayers for me, for my healing, for the strengthening of my faith, for God’s glory to be shown through my testimony as I go through this illness and recovery, and for my mother and my brother, who don’t know yet.
