And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Mark 16:17-18, KJV)
“Those who believe.” Jesus didn’t say “you”, referring to his disciples. He said “those who believe.” I believe. My Christian friends believe.
Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. (James 5:14-15, NKJV)
Who heals the sick? “The Lord will raise him up.”
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5, NKJV)
Note the tense of the last sentence. Isaiah said we are healed, not might be or could be, but are. The timing of the healing is up to God, but it will happen. Today, next month, next year, upon arrival in heaven. We don’t know when, but God does. He controls the timing.
